See...even Jackson says he is ready for Jacob to come home!
On another note, Jacob is doing well without oxygen and nasal cannula. His breathing is still fast, but its normal for him and that will slow down as he grows more lung and gets older. His oxygen saturation (the amount of oxygen getting to the brain and body) is always in the 90's. (Normal ranges are 92-100%) The doctors told me that we need his sats to remain above 92 all the time. If he dips below that they will want him to go home on oxygen. Just the thought that we get to bring him home is wonderful, but it would be miraculous if he could come home without oxygen. We're praying that in the next couple of weeks Jacob will continue to sat above 92, so that we can bring him home without respiratory support. That would be God at work!!!
Have a blessed day today!
This is awesome news!!! We love you!

I am typing this with tears rolling down my cheeks, even though I have never met you. Your words from a previous post: "It is our prayer that you have become closer to God through this journey (YES!!!), that you have seen God at work (ABSOLUTELY!!!!), and that your relationship with the Almighty will only become stronger." IT HAS FOR ME! Words cannot express how much my faith has been impacted by your faith, how much my view of prayer has changed. I am in awe of what God is doing in your son's life and I just know that God has great plans for him and for you all! Thank YOU for inspiring ME.
ReplyDeleteAnd I will continue to pray for you all.
I am so excited for you all! I pray continually for Jacob! Thank you for sharing your story of faith. :)

ReplyDeletePrior to service one Sunday morning Bob had tears in his eyes and I knew something was not right. He gave us the news about Jacob and was very upset. I new in my heart that Jacob was going to be well and come home and live a normal life. There was a peace God gave me and I told this to Bob. We have been praying for Jacob and all of you. Great news indeed.
ReplyDeletePraise God!! I am so happy for you. Austin and I both cried our hearts breaking for you when we first read your story after you sent out an email asking people to pray and asked God to work a miracle for you. God is awesome
ReplyDeleteHarmony
I continue to pray and be encouraged by your story. What an inspiration.

Jeff and Julie:
ReplyDeleteMy name is Hart Knight. My wife gave birth to our miracle baby, Mary Margaret Knight at Vandy on the 30th. Mary Margaret was born with an Omphalocele, an abdominal wall defect, which was surgically corrected yesterday after MANY ups and downs while she was in utero. We are currently in Pod D of the NICU. To make a long story short, we have some mutual friends, probably more than we know. As a result, I have been praying for your family for a very long time. Either leave your email address with your nurse or come by and say hello. We saw you a few days ago, but did not want to bother you. Maybe Mary Margaret and Jacob can be NICU buddies.
Jeff and Julie - WOW!!! What a miracle from God! I want you to know that I prayed for you every single night! To this day I rock my little girl to sleep and pray for baby Jacob. What a blessing! I am SO happy for the two of you! Reading your blog brought tears to my eyes! The power of prayer is so obvious to me!!! Thank you for having this blog and for sharing all of your precious pictures. He is a DOLL!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMother's day is coming. But I dare say you have already experienced the ultimate mother's day, the day Jacob arrived and took those first breaths. Your journey has inspired hundreds and will continue to do so. For that blessing we give God the glory. I think of you so often - and especially will be thinking of you Sunday. John Mark will be preaching in Memphis and we won't be at Woodmont. Like Mary you are a blessed mother. "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is Good. His Love Endures Forever."

ReplyDeleteNo words....wow...we are praying everyday for God to breathe precious air into Jacob's lungs - and we are praying to our angel, Jonathan - Jacob's guardian angel - to help God breathe precious air into Jacob's lungs as well as to breathe the love of God deep deep deep into little Jacob's heart.
ReplyDeleteNo words...wow...
