New Arrivals Day

Our church hosted a New Arrivals Day for all the families in our church that had babies or adopted children into their families for the year 2012. We made sure the grandparents knew about the special day. Chappy and Agga were able to be there, and Papa and G-Jo were able to watch via webcast on Woodmont's website. So glad they all could be a part of that special Sunday for Elizabeth. I have to admit that I teared up during the dedication; when you have gone through what we did with Jacob, it makes Elizabeth's journey that much sweeter.

We are blessed with two beautiful miracles! It makes me think if the song we sing in church...Bless The Lord, oh my soul. Oh, my soul! Worship His Holy Name! Sing like never before, oh my soul. I Worship His Holy Name!

These are the pictures I have from that day. Enjoy!

Walker Run 5K

Last Saturday our family participated in a 5K honoring the life of Sara Walker. Although I never had the chance to meet her in person, our lives were connected.

She was diagnosed with cancer on the same day that we spoke at her church about Jacob's story. She was not there when we spoke, but got a copy and emailed us later telling us that it gave her great hope in her journey. She inspired many people to savor life. She passed away on August 28, 2012...the same day that our sweet Elizabeth was born.

I'm so glad that we were able to participate this year. She was and still is an amazing blessing to so many.

3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 months...

Watch Elizabeth grow...

Beautiful baby girl!  You are so precious!  God knew just what we needed when he gave you to us!  You are so gentle and easy!  You smile at Jacob most of the time, and love to watch him play all over the house.

You have two teeth, which started coming in around 6 months old and you weren't even cranky!  In the past few months you have learned how to sit up, roll over both ways, and lately you have begun to spin your self around in circles on your tummy.  You want to crawl so badly, but can't figure out how to propel yourself forward.  You kick your legs out over and over, it's so cute to watch.

You began eating rice cereal around 4 and a half months old.  You didn't know what to do at first, but after a week or two, you caught on and have not stopped since!  You eat pureed food three times a day and have eaten many different fruits and veggies, and even had baby yogurt!  There's only been one veggie that you didn't seem to like: asparagus.  I don't blame you, it's an acquired taste for most people!  ;)  But you LOVE fruit and will open your mouth for the next bite before we get the next spoonful ready.  Ha!

You like to have two naps each day and one is always longer than the other.  Usually the morning nap is the shorter of the two.  You are sleeping through the night starting at 8pm and usually wake up around 5 or 6 for a morning feeding, and will sleep for another hour or so after that feeding.  Occasionally you will wake up in the night and need your pacifier, but just the other night, you found your pacifier all by yourself and stuck it back in your mouth.  Pure Bliss!

We love you so much!  You are growing and changing and learning so much!  You are our second beautiful miracle!  God has big plans for you, Elizabeth!

Hiatus...

To those of you that have been checking the blog, wondering if we've fallen off the face of the earth, or thinking we've abandoned our duty of faithfully posting on this blog, or even possibly missing my ramblings and the wonderful pictures of our life (ha)...I appologize!

There's a couple of reasons for our long hiatus.  1) Blogger was saying that I couldn't post pictures because I had used too much space even though I have only used 5% of the allocated 5GB (whatever...) it looks like we have that worked out, 2) I was rethinking the amount of information/pictures that are just out there on the web for anyone and everyone to see about our family, 3) and let's face it this is a lame excuse, but, time slips away from us now that we have another little one around.  No excuses, I know!  However, we are BACK and although it's been a long time, we are going to attempt to update you on the major life events since November and there may be many more ramblings in the coming future!  Good luck to us all!  Ha!

At Thanksgiving in Atlanta, Jacob got to fly an airplane, a Cessna and Cirrus, to be exact.  He still talks about it and remembers it well!  :)

Christmas was spent at our house this year for the first time.  The Winkler family all came to Nashville!  Lots of memories were made and we all had so much fun!  Elizabeth is in the back behind the centerpiece!

In January, Jacob turned 4 years old!  Where has the time gone?  Who is this little man that has replaced my baby boy?

The Tuley family got together at the cabins for Agga's Birthday in February.  We hadn't all been there together since Jacob was a baby.  What fun.

In March, Jenna came to visit!  We had so much fun together.  We went to the Franklin Theater, Hiked Radnor Lake, and Mommy got some girl time!  Yay!

Buzz Lightyear has become the favorite thing for Jacob around here!  He dresses up in the costume and wants to take Buzz everywhere!

In the past few weeks Jacob has gotten glasses!  So handsome!

Elizabeth is rolling over both ways, sitting up for long periods of time, and has gotten two teeth!

Elizabeth is also eating lots of yummy food that we make for her!  So far, we can't tell if she has any favorites, but she prefers fruits over veggies.  :)  Maybe that was why I was craving smoothies so many mornings when I was pregnant?!?!?!

I will leave you with a few pictures and thoughts from Easter 2013...What a beautiful day to celebrate our Risen Savior!   I am humbled and honored to be a mother of two beautiful miracles, and a wife to a man of such integrity.  I am challenged daily to be a more compassionate, merciful, and loving person; listening to the Holy Spirit guiding and directing me.
I am not perfect, and never will be, but praise God, I am forgiven and my salvation is secure!

Thanks for checking in with us!  May you be blessed today to see God at work!
