Papa Bear and GJo come for a visit...

Papa Bear and GJo came in for a 5 day visit and we made sure we had lots of fun! :) Of course, the trip was filled with lots of book reading, plenty of playing at parks, some projects, walking around in a field of corn (haha), and ended with cheering me on in my first half marathon. It was a busy week, but such fun! Papa Bear taught Jacob some new tricks at the dinner table, and learned a thing or two about flying with avionics with Jeff. All around, it was a fun time and we are looking forward to spending more time with them for Christmas this year. Here's some pictures from the week. Enjoy!

GJo reading with Jacob
Jacob and Jackson just hanging out!
Getting some pansies and mums for fall planting projects. Thanks for all the hard work, the yard looks great!
Wednesday night we decided to walk down the street to the yogurt place. It's about a half mile away, and it was a nice night for a walk. Off we go for some sweet treats!
The boys look happy after getting some MENCHIES!
The best picture of GJo and Jacob. So sweet!
Thursday we had the usual therapy sessions, and Papa Bear and GJo got to experience Jacob swinging down the zip line. Here we are getting him all set up. :)
After OT, we went to a nearby park and played. Jacob mostly walked around since that's what he really wants to do lately. I think he's pointing at the grass here...
Walking with Papa Bear and GJo. How much fun is this???
Snack time. Jacob really loves his Yogurt! :)
In the car on the way to the Corn Maze. Jacob was pointing out every Big Rig Truck he could find. Notice his foot resting on his knee? This is his usual pose in the car. Hilarious!
Oh GJo, it wasn't that bad, was it? :)
In the corn maze...hoping we don't get lost! :)

Are we ever going to find our way out and around the MASSES of people??? :)
Jeff took Papa Bear flying on Friday, so in preparation for their trip, they were looking at the map. "I think I wanna go there..."
"And we're off..."
Two cool dudes flying to Memphis for some Beale St. Bar-B-Que.
While the boys went flying, GJo and I took Jacob to the downtown library and read some books. I had to go to the Runner's Expo right across the street to pick up my information for the Women's half Marathon, so we decided to have some fun reading books first. Although, Jacob really just wanted to walk around there too. :)
Saturday morning was the day of the big race. I had been training for about 4-5 months for the Women's Half Marathon, and here we are after I completed 13.1 miles. About mile 11 my body was really feeling the wear and tear of the running, but I perservered, and it paid off. I am very proud of myself. Thanks to Jeff for supporting me, and watching Jacob every morning so I could train. What a great man!

It was great to have my parents there cheering me on to completion! I am glad they came out and experienced that with me.

Here's the video of me crossing the finish line!

Thanks for a great trip PB and GJo.

Have a wonderful day!

Loving the Park!

We've been going to the park a little bit more lately now that Jacob loves walking and climbing and being independent. So, here's some pictures of Jacob sliding and swinging. I happen to be biased, but he's the greatest kid ever! :)
Waiting at the top of the slide to go down...

1, 2, 3, GO!!!!!!!!

Asking for "more" on the swing. He likes it when I pull him toward me really high and then let go!
Here's a video I took of Jacob going down the slide at a nearby park. He has just discovered how to climb up the stairs, walk to the slide, sit down, and pull himself down. I made sure he was safe and told him to wait at the top of the slide so I could video. He's such a good listener! :)

Here's a video of him swinging. In his 18 month post, I said that he was not really liking the swing too much, but that he would eventually...and this video shows just how far he's come. He actually smiles and laughs now in the swing. So fun!

We're really looking forward to the cooler weather so we can go to the park ALOT more. He's loving walking around, climbing, and exploring his world. How fun to be doing more "normal" things with him. Every day feels more and more ordinary! Praise God!

Cardinals/Braves Game in the ATL

This weekend we went to Atlanta for Jacob's first Cardinals Baseball game (outside of the womb that is). He did such a GREAT job at the game, despite the heat! Here's some pictures of the event. What a precious boy we have!!!!

"You mean the Cardinals didn't win?"
Ready for the game Daddy, Let's Go!
Already a Pujols fan!

Such a sweet picture of GG and Jacob before the game!

He did this pose all on his own! What a cutie!

Talking "baseball" with Chappy! (or whatever Jacob will call him one day)

At the game!
Uncle Buh eating Cheerios. "One at a time!"

Don't you LOVE Jacob's face in this picture with Aunt Jenny? He was SO hot!

Watching the game on Daddy's shoulders. Cute!

Our attempt at a family shot. It gets harder and harder to get these lately!

Typical Jacob. Gesturing at something...

Watching the game!

Thanks to the Tuley family for such wonderful memories made this weekend. Hopefully this will be the first of MANY, MANY Cards games together!
Thanks for checking in today. Hope you have a wonderful day!

Nothing really...

It's been a great week with Jacob. Our schedule is still pretty full during the week. We have two appointments on Mondays, two appointments on Thursdays, and have started a play group on Wednesdays. So...Mister Jacob's social calendar fills up quickly. :) Jeff has been working from home on Fridays, so that allows us to have some extra family time. Which is great! On the days that we don't have plans, we go to the grocery store, and run errands.

Jacob has become quite opinionated in the past few weeks, and often shows us just how he feels about being told no. I wouldn't say that we're experiencing "tantrums" per say, but he's definately showing his independence! :) Also, naptime and bedtime have become quite a struggle too. Agh, growing up is hard stuff!

I don't have too many pictures to post...but here's some of the pictures and short videos I grabbed with my phone. Sorry about the sideways videos and the quality. I'm still learning how to use my new phone...

Jacob was so tired after going shoe shopping, playing at the indoor play area at the mall, and eating lunch that he fell asleep on the way home. So cute!

These are a couple of videos of Jacob's latest skill. He was so proud of himself!

This is Jacob walking all over the house during our kitchen renovations. :) He's getting better!

Thanks for checking in with us. Have a blessed day!
