What a Big Mess!

Creativity at Work...

The other day, Jacob asked if he could paint.  Of course, I was okay with that!  Then a little bit later, we received a package from California, and he decided that he wanted to decorate the box.  Of course, I was okay with that too!  Here's some pictures of my creative child hard at work!

Jacob-isms

I stole this title from another blog that I follow...  The mom posts funny things that her child has been saying lately.  I think it's a great way to document some of the things that Jacob has been "coming up with" now that he is talking so much more.

He LOVES American flags, so when he waves the flag around, he often says, "I attire American Flag"  which we think means I retire the American Flag.  We think Uncle Biggie taught him that?

When we are in the car driving around town, he will often find American Flags and point them out to us as we pass them.  He knows where many of them are located along our normal routes, so the other day, he said, "Oh, there's one.  There's American Flag.  I find them eveywhere."  Ha!

He likes to put his American Flag on his "bedpost."  He doesn't have a bedpost, so we did the best we could and placed it between his matress and the toddler rail.  Also, we were not exactly sure what that meant until recently.  We were driving in the car and he pointed to a flagpole and said "There's a bedpost, but where's the flag."  We realized that somehow he was confusing the two words, flagpole and bedpost.  So glad that's cleared up!  Ha!  Here's a picture of Jacob with his flag on his "bedpost."

At the McDonalds close to our house, there's three flags on poles.  He points them out every time and will say, "There's American Flag, Tennessee Flag, and McDonalds Flag.  That's silly."  Apparently he thinks that McDonalds doesn't need a flag of their own.  :)
When we sit down for dinner, he will point to the food and say, "this is not too bad." Ha!  So far, he's never said that anything was bad...he's one smart boy!  :)

The other day I asked Jeff if he wanted salad or broccoli with dinner.  Jeff said he wanted broccoli.  Then Jacob chimed in and said, "I want salad, actually.  Yeah, actually, I want salad."  I love that he used "actually" correctly in his sentence.
We have told Jacob that when he cleans his plate at meals that he is part of the clean plate club.  Apparently he got it mixed up with the fact that Mommy is in a book club, so now anytime he eats everything on his plate he says, "I in the whole plate book club!"  So funny!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Daddy had a birthday this week, and Jacob helped Mommy make a cake!  He put all the ingredients in, controlled the mixer, chose the shape of the cake, and helped decorate too.  He was so happy that Daddy could "blow all the candles" and asked us many times to "turn it on, turn on the cake!"

Chappy-Agga Camp

The first weekend in May, Jacob got to spend some time with Chappy and Agga all by himself!  It was the first time for him to be away from Mommy and Daddy for more than a night...  We had been talking about it for a good while, and we knew he would have a great time!  I think he only asked about us once!  Ha!  Mommy and Daddy had a good time too, celebrating our 7 year anniversary and working on projects around the house.  Fun was had by ALL!  Here's some pictures of his weekend!

Jacob LOVED flying his airplane in the backyard.

Apparently, he liked to try to hit the airplane into the tree.  Anything that BANGS or BOOMS is so funny right now!

Lots of eating took place!

Painting projects were fun too!

Jacob LOVES American Flags right now, so Chappy and Agga had a bunch for him.  He decided that he wanted to put them on his "bedpost" but they all ended up in his bed.  Ha!

Collecting bark for a project...

Need I say more?

Two of Jacob's favorite things together.  The "gran-farmer" clock, and American Flags.  Can it be any better than this?

A couple of projects...

Playing on the playground

Dinner at a certain Pizza place!

Walking with Hudson... Hudson was born in November and Jacob in January...so close in age!

Playing with Hudson!

Park time!
We know that Chappy and Agga had as much fun as Jacob!

Disney World

Last week we spent some time together as a family and went to Disney World!  It was such a great trip.  Jacob was a great traveler, an easy park go-er, and a super tired guy by the end of each night.  We spent the first day traveling and hanging out in Downtown Disney.  The second day we went to Hollywood Studios.  The third day was spent at Epcot.  Day 4 we went to Animal Kingdom, and the last two days were spent at Magic Kingdom.  Here's some pictures from our trip!  Enjoy!
