First Day of Pre-K

It's hard to believe that our Miracle Boy is in Pre-Kindergarten!

Jacob, we are so proud of you!  You have grown up so much in the last year!  You are SO SMART!  You are reading!  Yes, that's right, at 4 1/2 years old you are reading Biscuit books and some easy readers.  It's totally unbelievable to me!  You know how to write your name and most of the alphabet, you understand time (thanks to all the clocks in the family) and you love numbers, especially as they relate to clocks, elevators, and airplane tail numbers.  You like to jump around and play outside, especially when it involves swinging a bat at a ball.  You are so independent and love to say, "I do it my own."  So big!  We are so honored to be your parents and we can't wait to see how God works in you this year!

1 year old!

Beautiful Elizabeth!  You are one year old!  We are so in love with you and the little person God made you to be!  Each day we are seeing new and wonderful things in you.  We are honored to be your parents.

You are doing so many new things.  I am writing this blog post a week and a half after your actual birthday, but I think it's still okay to say that you are WALKING!  Wow!  It's amazing actually.  Watching how easily you stand up on your own, and confidently take steps...it's so marvelous.  You had taken a couple of steps toward Daddy last week, but you weren't really intentional about it, so I didn't count it.  But, just the other day you took a few steps, then a few more, and now the count is about 8 steps in a row before you tumble down to the ground.  Precious!

You are sleeping great!  You still sleep from 8pm to about 6:30 or 7am each day, without waking.  Yay!  I think you hear Jacob get up (who is an early, early riser!) and you are ready to get to playing.  :)  You made the transition to sippy cup and whole milk like a champ!  You also began eating table foods in the last month.  You have started to show us a few preferences, especially when it comes to vegetables.  Just about the only vegetable I can get to you eat is broccoli.  You love anything with bread, cheese, or sugar.  Ha!

We took you to the doctor for your 12 month check up and you were 30 inches and 18lbs 13 oz.  You're in the 75-90% in height, and 25-50% in weight.  You are great!

You are consistently saying DaDa and MaMa.  We think you are saying, "yeah" and "there" and one time I thought I heard you say, "did it."  But I haven't heard it again, so maybe not.  Ha!  You definitely understand more than you can express.  You are following simple commands, like "Put your foot down," or "Hands up," and, "Give it to me."

You like to climb on just about anything, and you are so proud of yourself when you do something independently.  You are such a joy and we love loving you!  Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

Lubbock?!?!

In the beginning of August we went to Lubbock to visit my sister and her family.  Jamie and Josh had "recently" relocated there so that Josh could attend preaching school.  He will finish in May of 2014, and we wanted to make sure that we had a chance to visit them before graduation.  So...off we went to Lubbock.  I can tell you, there's not much in Lubbock!  But, who needs much when you are around family!

Jacob and Elizabeth had fun playing with their cousins and doing new things!  We went to Jumpin Jungle and Science Spectrum, did a wood building project, and visited the school where Josh is attending!  It was a great trip!  Enjoy the pictures!

Our attempt at a cousins picture while at Jumpin Jungle.  At least they are all somewhat looking at the camera!  Ha!

Project time.  Josh and Jamie purchased these woodcraft projects while on their international mission trip.  They got Jacob an airplane and Audrey a doll.  The dads got to paint, hammer, and glue...and I got to sew some doll clothes!  :)

11 Months

Sweet Elizabeth!

You are 11 months old!  We are so blown away with your awesomeness!  That's not a real word, but it doesn't matter...you are just awesome, and we love you so much!  In just one short month you have started doing many new things...

You are cruising!  You pull right up on most things and cruise your way around to get what you want. You crawl very fast, and can really get moving when you want to chase mommy all over the house!    You are trying to climb up onto many things.  We have little chairs, and you climb right into those, and you also get up on the hearth, where your toys currently reside, and also have figured out how to get down without hurting yourself.  :)  While holding hands, you can walk.  If we let go, you quickly drop yourself right to the ground.  It's cute.  Last week you stood up on the cooler and you pushed it all over the kitchen...so you're ready for a walking/push toy!  Some say you will be walking by your first birthday...that would be crazy!  We shall see!

You have a really good pincer grasp.  You are picking up cheerios like crazy, and anything else you can find, and things quickly go right to your mouth!  We are vacuuming more than ever before!  Ha!  You are tapping on books and turning pages when we read.  You clap your hands together and like to bang on things.  You are babbling, and mimicking sounds all the time.  One of the cutest things you do, is after taking a bite of something you say, "Mmmm."

Ok. Another one of the cutest things you do is HUG!  It's the most precious thing.  You crawl right over to another baby/child and wrap your arms around them, sometimes you knock them over, and hug them.  It's just adorable!  You've been known to put your arms out for other people to hold you and when they take you, you put your head on their shoulder and pat their back with your hand.  You are so loving!  Beautiful and loving, a great combination, however, we may have to lock you up until you're 30.  Just kidding.  :)

And speaking of food...you are eating table foods!  Thats because you have 8 teeth!!!  Three are fully out, and the other 5 have broken through and are on their way down at different rates, but they're all there...Crazy! It's been amazing watching you eat things like bread, muffins, potatoes, broccoli, carrots, green beans, banana, watermelon, spaghetti, eggs, and some pancakes with syrup.  You LOVE sweet things and we have no doubt that when it comes time for your birthday cake, you will gobble it up!!!!  We can't wait to watch you eat your birthday cake!

Most of your 9 month clothes still fit you, and size 2 shoes still fit also.  You are sleeping from 8pm to about 6am, which is part of why we think you are so awesome.  :)  We're not going to lie, we do like our sleep!  Your hair is beginning to get long enough for clips, if you'll keep them in, and one day soon I will be putting your hair in pigtails!  Just you wait!

You are such a light to our world and it's a better world because you're in it!  We love you beautiful girl!

this cracks me up...

Visit to Little Rock

This past weekend we went to Little Rock to visit Aunt Vonnie.  It was so much fun!  We hadn't been there since before Jacob was born...so we were overdue for a visit!  While we were there, we spent time getting a grand tour of the family history!  We drove by a few houses owned by family members, and places where the Tuley boys would play and explore when they were young.  The main reason for the visit was to spend time with Aunt Vonnie, and it was super special!  She had gotten some toys for the kids and started up most of the clocks in her house for Jacob.  He got to sleep in the room with the most clocks...15 in his room alone!  He was in HEAVEN!  Ha!  That boy loves his clocks!  Here's a few pictures from our trip!

Beach Trip 2013

We just returned from a week long beach vacation in Cape San Blas, FL.  We decided to go with some great friends, Mike and Jackie and their three kids.  We had so much fun building sand castles, looking for shells, running in and out of the water, and taking walks along the beach in the evenings.  We ventured out to St. Joseph's state park one day, and it was definitely worth it.  Beautiful beach, sand, and calm waters!  Many memories were made!  Enjoy!

In the car, ready to head out early in the morning!  The 9+ hour drive went better than expected!  :)

Packed to the brim

Asleep along the way...

Day one on the beach...getting set up for the morning.  Our condo is in the back of the pic.  Great location and it had a pool, which was definitely fun for the evenings!

Sweet E playing in the sand.  I'm just gonna go ahead and say that she totally ate the sand...however she didn't really enjoy it!  Ha!

Jacob's favorite thing to do all week...run in and out of the water.  Every day as soon as we walked out onto the sand, he would say, "Mommy, you go in the water with me?"
